Across the world's oceans, tropical fish are embarking on unprecedented migrations. Driven by rising sea temperatures, species that once thrived in equatorial waters are now heading toward the poles, seeking cooler habitats. This shift is reshaping marine ecosystems and presenting new challenges for coastal communities that depend on traditional fishing practices.
As ocean temperatures rise, tropical species such as tuna and cod are venturing into higher latitudes or diving deeper into cooler layers of water. These migrations disrupt established breeding and feeding patterns, destabilizing marine food webs and threatening biodiversity.
For traditional fishermen, the consequences are severe. Communities reliant on coastal fisheries are facing dwindling catches, longer voyages, and rising operational costs. In some areas, food security and livelihoods are at risk as familiar species move beyond reach.

Protecting marine life and human communities alike will require global collaboration and decisive action against climate change.
